Terms of Service
Written to be read. If anything here is unclear, legal@basis.fin answers in plain language.
The agreement
These terms govern your use of Basis — the software platform operated by Basis Financial, Inc. Banking services are provided by FDIC-insured partner banks; Basis is a financial technology company, not a bank.
Your account
Keep credentials secure, use hardware MFA where offered, and ensure the people you invite are authorized to see your company's financial data. You're responsible for activity under your seats.
Fees
Software fees are published on the pricing page, billed monthly or annually, prorated on change. We never charge against your float, and volume never appears on the invoice outside the published 2bps Growth overage.
Your data
You own your ledger. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service — and nothing more. On termination, we export everything in open formats.
Acceptable use
No unlawful activity, no attempting to breach the vault (we reward responsible disclosure instead), no reselling the service without a platform agreement.
Service levels
We target 99.99% availability with credits per your plan. Status is published live and honestly — including the minutes we'd rather forget.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is capped at fees paid in the trailing 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud or willful misconduct.
Termination
Cancel any time from the dashboard. We can suspend for material breach with notice. Either way, your data exports completely.
